A question from a SEO channel: "We're getting lot of spam in our contact from from other countries, trying to sell us services that we offer. We are considering blocking other countries outside the USA using something like CloudFlare. Reason being, we only ant to sell to customers in the United States. Will it have a detrimental effect on our SEO if we block other countries from accessing our website?"

Other people may say to go ahead and block that traffic, but I'm going to tell you the opposite. Especially if you are, as I suspect you are, a web design or marketing firm. Blocking traffic is going to have a long-term effect where it makes it more difficult to spread your message and grow. By blocking every country except for one, you are cutting off an audience that can help you grow.
