5 million Britons have a severe dental problem requiring urgent treatment.
7.4 million of us haven’t seen a dentist since 2006
British children’s teeth are in worse condition today than 30 years ago.
British teeth are in crisis. An estimated 84% of adults have unhealthy teeth or gums, one in 10 of us aren’t even registered with a dentist, and with the highest dental fees in Europe an estimated 200,000 Britons a year resort to DIY home dentistry.
This revealing two-part documentary series explores life on the front-line of UK dental hygiene through the experiences of the doctors and patients dealing with Britain’s very worst teeth. Using remarkable access to NHS emergency dental hospitals and community outreach dental access centers across the country, we’ll meet the unfortunate people with the most extraordinary, decayed and downright horrific teeth in Britain.

Britain’s biggest serial killer was a doctor, Dr Harold Shipman. Unsuspected for many years, Dr. Shipman selected his victims from his patient list. There were clues, but who in the community would believe that a doctor would kill his patients? Suspected of killing over 350 people during his career, it was clumsy attempts at forging the will of one of his victims in his own favour that alerted the police and led to his arrest. Found guilty at his trial and jailed for life, Dr Shipman committed suicide never accepting his guilt.

When Halifax resident Holly Bartlett was found almost a kilometre from her condo, police quickly closed her case, calling her death an accident. They concluded the 31-year-old woman, who was blind, wandered drunk and disoriented away from her building, crawling under a fence and up a cement structure beneath the McKay Bridge, where she suffered the injuries that contributed to her death. Family, friends and colleagues have never believed it, insisting her death was suspicious.
Almost a decade later, a team of investigators return to Holly’s story. Reviewing old evidence and uncovering new, this programme sheds light on what really happened that frosty March evening in 2010.

Reggie Yates concludes his travels around South African communities by spending a week with Prophet Mboro - a charismatic yet controversial church leader who is adored by his thousands of followers, and renowned as much for his dancing as he is for the `miracles' he performs. Boasting a collection of expensive cars and wearing an array of jewelry, Mboro has emerged a millionaire from the boom in Pentecostal `mega-churches'. The former BBC Radio DJ asks if Mboro can possibly be a messenger from God and confronts some home truths when recalling the time he rejected the African Pentecostal faith.

Liquid Bomb Plot is the incredible true story of the surveillance operation that stopped a fatal disaster and saved thousands of lives.
It’s August 2006. A UK terrorist cell plans to launch suicide bombs that would have resulted in the world’s largest and deadliest attack since 9/11.
The plot involved exploding devices disguised as soft drinks and, if it had succeeded, would have blown planes from the sky killing 2,000 people in a single night. The failed plan has changed the nature of UK air travel to this very day – with restrictions still in place on the amount of liquid passengers can carry.

Kensington and Chelsea is the most expensive place to live in Britain, with properties costing up to £55 million. Set against this exclusive backdrop we reveal the secret world of posh neighbours at war.
From the woman who hit the headlines worldwide for painting her exclusive Kensington mews house in bright red stripes, infuriating neighbours in the process, to the couple whose loud back garden operas are causing a commotion in the countryside and the unhappy denizens of Hampstead who are up in arms about noisy gardeners, we lift the lid on these most upmarket of neighbourly rows. At the heart of the documentary is the battle between two multi-millionaire neighbours, businessman Niall Carroll; and Zipporah Lisle Mainwaring, the woman behind the stripes.
In March last year, Zipporah Lisle Mainwaring got the exterior of her Kensington property painted in bright red stripes – very different to the muted tones of the multi-million pound houses either side. This action came in the midst of an ongoing legal argument about her plans to turn this two storey property into a dream home, complete with basement pool and cinema. But basement developments in London have become highly controversial, and we’ll explore both sides of the planning issues around not only this case, but others too, and we follow Zipporah’s case as it escalates to a public enquiry.
We meet Mayor of London Boris Johnson’s sister, author Rachel Johnson, herself one of the most outspoken Notting Hill residents on what she sees as the horrors of living next door to a basement build, and Oscar-winning actor Tom Conti at his Hampstead home. He shares his fury that his beloved peace and quiet has been broken with the latest trend – to use noisy leafblowers instead of quiet rakes to keep their lawns looking lovely!

Dr Chris Van Tulleken is embarking on a daring medical experiment that could change the way we think about our health forever.
Britain is addicted to prescription drugs. They’re doing us more harm than good, the evidence for their efficacy is wafer-thin and they’re costing the NHS a fortune. It’s a medical crisis – and Chris is determined to do something about it.
So he’s setting up a radical new drug-free clinic in a busy GP surgery. For three months, he’s going to treat illnesses without antibiotics, control pain without painkillers, and wean some of Britain’s most drug-dependent patients off their “life-saving” drug regimes. Instead of giving his patients medicine, he’s going to take their medicine away.
