I'm Brandon Chapman, a composer/engineer/dozen other hats and I live in Raleigh, North Carolina. I'm 33 years old, been an Apple guy since my first Unibody Macbook Pro in 2008-2009, back when I was at university. Still have my 2012 Mac Pro that I no longer use. Currently rocking the 2013 Trashcan maxed out (factory max, not 128gb of ram or anything).

Love your show! I started watching it daily for the past 5 months or so.

Reeeeaaal excited about the new macbooks as I believe the M1X should pack some serious power and more than enough for my needs (which can actually be pretty needy, 100-200 tracks of heavy VST instruments and audio plugins.) But yeah, I work full time for a marketing agency (7.5 years) and also do freelance after hours. I hate the agency so going to probably branch out and go freelance once I can get my hands on the new SoC and really finish my studio.

#icaveanswers at one point you mentioned dipping a toe into the HomeKit area, so I have a question. I thought “thread” was the new protocol to let all kinds of things talk to each other and the HomePod mini had thread built in too. But now I’m hearing of a different protocol (the name escapes me at the moment) that includes Apple, Google, etc… what’s the future on HomeKit communication? Thanks!

The GoPro Labs 2021 update now adds support for the following features:

• Camera Motion Triggers: Leverage the camera’s accelerometer and/or gyroscope to start/stop capture only when the camera is in motion, preserving storage and battery.
• USB Power Triggers: Your GoPro can start/stop capture when USB power is detected, enabling USB-triggered functions such as serving as a dash cam.
• Motion Detection Enhancements: Motion detection is now supported in all video modes, including 360° motion detection on MAX, with improvements to the sensitivity range.
• Simplified Live Streaming QR Code: Program GoPro to start live streaming within seconds of being connected to a designated Wi-Fi network.
• Single-Setting/One-Button Mode: Enable a one-button mode where the operator can only start/stop capture, making it impossible to accidentally change camera mode. This is designed to capture critical events.
• New Exposure Modes: Set timed exposure lock and minimum shutter speed settings.
• New QR Code Controls: QR code controls supported in 5K and HindSight capture for HERO9 Black.
